A Celebration of Cornwall and Creativity: Penwith Society of Arts Associate Members’ Exhibition 2026

Cornwall has long been a magnet for artists, a place where light, landscape and community come together to spark something special. This winter, the Penwith Society of Arts continues that tradition with a vibrant new exhibition showcasing the work of its Associate Members. Running from 23rd January to 21st February 2026, it promises a rich and varied journey through contemporary artistic practice.

A Warm Welcome to the Preview Evening

The exhibition opens with a relaxed preview on Friday 23rd January from 17:30 onwards, and everyone is invited. Whether you’re a long-standing supporter of the Society, a collector, a fellow artist, or simply curious, the preview offers a wonderful opportunity to meet the makers, enjoy the atmosphere, and experience the work before the wider public arrives.

A Diverse Collection of Artistic Voices

One of the strengths of the Penwith Society has always been its ability to bring together artists working across a wide range of disciplines. This exhibition is no exception, featuring:

  • Sculpture – from bold contemporary forms to more delicate, tactile pieces
  • Ceramics – expressive, functional, experimental, and beautifully crafted
  • Paintings – spanning abstraction, landscape, figurative work and everything in between
  • Drawings – intimate studies, expressive mark-making, and refined technical skill
  • Photography – capturing moments, textures, and perspectives through a creative lens
  • Prints – showcasing the depth and versatility of printmaking techniques

Each piece reflects the individuality of its creator, yet together they form a cohesive celebration of artistic exploration and craftsmanship.

Why This Exhibition Matters

The Associate Members’ Exhibition is more than a display of work — it’s a snapshot of the evolving creative energy within the Penwith Society. These artists represent the next wave of talent contributing to Cornwall’s cultural landscape, building on the legacy of the Society’s founders while pushing into new territory.

Visitors can expect a thoughtful, inspiring and occasionally surprising collection that reflects the diversity of contemporary art in the region.

Plan Your Visit

The exhibition runs for nearly a month, giving plenty of time to explore at your own pace. Whether you’re looking to discover new artists, add to your collection, or simply enjoy an afternoon surrounded by creativity, it’s well worth a visit.
