Description

Alice Browne (b. Oxford, UK, 1986) is a contemporary abstract artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, printmaking, and collage. She studied at Wimbledon College of Art (2006–09) and completed her MA at the Royal College of Art, London (2014–16).

Her work explores the tension between colour, texture, and spatial depth, often balancing playful rhythm with painterly abstraction. Browne’s approach is described as fresh and unpredictable, allowing brush shape and paint consistency to guide mark-making.

She has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally, with solo and group shows at venues such as:

Limoncello Gallery, London (Young British Art, curated by Ryan Gander, 2011)

Flatland Gallery, Amsterdam (Camouflage, 2019)

Galerie Liusa Wang, Paris (Second Star to the Right, 2022)

Slugtown Gallery, Newcastle (Salon Fundraiser, 2025)

Her work is held in collections including the Government Art Collection, Simmons & Simmons, Aspen Insurance, Soho House, and the Allbright Collection in London & LA
