Description
Margo Selby is an acclaimed British textile designer and artist, celebrated for her pioneering approach to woven fabrics. Based in Whitstable, Kent, she trained at Chelsea College of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art, where she developed her distinctive style that bridges the gap between fine art and design.
Her practice combines traditional weaving techniques with contemporary colour palettes and geometric forms, resulting in textiles that are both functional and highly collectible. Margo’s work spans handwoven artworks, rugs, and commercial collaborations, with pieces held in major collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum.
She has collaborated with leading brands such as Habitat, John Lewis, and Tate, while continuing to produce limited-edition handwoven artworks through her studio. Margo’s textiles are admired for their bold use of colour, rhythmic patterns, and technical mastery, making her one of the UK’s most influential textile designers today.
