Description
Portia Zvavahera is a Zimbabwean artist known for her work with oil-based printing ink. Born in 1985 in Harare, Zimbabwe, she studied at the BAT Visual Art Studios at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and the Harare Polytechnic. Zvavahera has been influenced by Chiko Chazunguza and has notable peers such as Netsai Mukomberanwa, Amanda Shingirai Mushate, and Grace Nyahangare. She has received the Tollman Award for the Visual Arts and the FNB Art Prize. Her works are exhibited in the Perez Art Museum Miami - PAMM, the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa - MOCAA, and the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art.
